The history of SIS
SIS-USA, founded originally as Human Factor Technologies, has been manufacturing and marketing Scandinavian designed and inspired office, health care, and educational furniture in the U.S. since the early 1980s.
SIS Timeline
1962 - SIS International formed
1984 - Human Factor Technologies is formed to market ergonomic office furniture produced by Fjello-Jensen in Denmark and Facit in Sweden
1988 - SIS international acquires Niels-Larsen school furniture to diversify and expand into the Danish educational furniture market
1991 - SIS international acquires Fjello-Jensen and expands its adjustable furniture offering from office tables to office workstations
1992 - SIS international acquires Human Factor Technologies and creates a wholly owned subsidiary SIS human factor technologies, inc for marketing its full office furniture line in the US
2002 - SIS international acquires MH school furniture consolidating its position in the Danish educational market
2002 - SIS Human Factor Technologies is renamed SIS-USA inc. - A more recognized company name as a part of SIS International. Education and Office furniture are combined under one name
2003 - SIS-USA inc. moves corporate offices to 55 Wentworth Ave., Londonderry NH, with a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility
2004 - SIS-USA inc. introduces the SIS Educational furniture line to the US market
2005 - SIS-USA inc. introduces SyntheSIS, a K-12 educational product line featuring Move; the first crank height adjustable student desk
2005 - SIS-USA inc. and Performance Concepts International Limited (PCI) establish a joint venture to provide educational environments with intelligent solutions.
2006 - SIS-USA inc. administers first American Institute of Architects (AIA) approved seminar for Architectural credit: Learning Styles as a Dimension of Design
